When Sulkhan Tsintsadze composed for film, he immersed himself in a completely different world altogether. While with time his orchestral and quartet pieces grew more and more complicated, he loved to let his lively, almost weightless melodies soar in the movies he wrote for. This vinyl features a suite on musical themes he composed for \"The Dragonfly\" (\"Chrichina\"), a comedy from 1954 that has since become a Georgian movie classic. Interestingly this suite was one of the few LPs destined for the export, hence the multilingual titling. Tellingly, the title is written in French and German and omits English, perhaps signifying a strained phase in USSR-USA relations.
