Zviad Gamsakhurdia was Georgia's first president after the dissolution of the Soviet Union in 1991, however, his tenure lasted only 15 months. Gamsakhurdia is viewed by many as a true patriot, while others view him as an irresponsible nationalist. What led Gamsakhurdia's legacy to be so divisive, and why did he have such a short time in office?
