This an interview with Natia Vibliani, the main actress in Mariam Khatchvani's film Dede. Set in the remote mountainous Georgian region of Svaneti, Dede is a Georgian language film that deals with the emotional story of love and traditions, of motherhood and courage. Girogi Babluani (13 Tzameti) stars in the film. The rest of the cast are Svanetian non-actors. Natia Vibliani plays Dina, the central figure in the film. Dede was directed by Mariam Khatchvani. This is her first feature film. Dede has been shown at various film festivals including the Karlovy Vary International Film Festival in Czechia. (As of this writing the film has yet to appear in the USA or any other anglophone country.)
