Welcome to Part 3 of our UAZ Buhanka road trip in Georgia. We leave the southeastern corner behind and head to Kvemo Kartli and Javakheti. Here the volcanic landscape is dotted with lakes big and small, sitting at an altitude of 2000m and above.
The highlights include exploring historic Samshvilde Fortress, camping by Paravani Lake (the biggest in Georgia) off-roading through the Abul-Samsari Range, and wandering through small villages with unique turf-roofed homes.
