-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Valerian Tsagareishvili (ვალერიან ცაგარეიშვილი) studied at the Tbilisi Conservatory, and had various teaching posts at schools and colleges in his early career. Quoting from Georgian Wikipedia: \"From 1935 to 1943 he was the head of the musical department of the Tbilisi Musical Comedy Theater , the director of the House of Folk Art from 1949 to 1950 , and the artistic director of the State Song and Dance Ensemble of the Georgian SSR in 1950-1958.

He is the author of musical comedies: \"The Sun Eclipse\" ( 1943 ), \"Aznaur\" ( 1945 ), \"The Love of the Three\" ( 1948 ), Children's Opera - \"Friends\" and \"Foolish Cruel\" ( 1928 ), Cantatas - \"Lame\" ( 1944 ) , \"Glory to Lenin\" ( 1971 ), \"The Multipurpose of Georgia\" ( 1971 ), symph. Poem - \"Eliso\" ( 1943 ), Choral Songs, One-part Concertos \"Losing Vardzia\" ( 1966 ) and more.\". He was made an Honoured Art Worker of Georgia in 1946. The birds evoked in this piece seem to be those found in gardens - the cover art of this piece shows blue-tits and great-tits (to give them their British names), and part of the cover is shown on the thumbnail.
