Phillip Sear plays a very short piece by the Georgian composer Valerian Tsagareishvili (1901-74). ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Valerian Tsagareishvili (ვალერიან ცაგარეიშვილი) studied at the Tbilisi Conservatory, and had various teaching posts at schools and colleges in his early career. Quoting from Georgian Wikipedia: "From 1935 to 1943 he was the head of the musical department of the Tbilisi Musical Comedy Theater , the director of the House of Folk Art from 1949 to 1950 , and the artistic director of the State Song and Dance Ensemble of the Georgian SSR in 1950-1958. He is the author of musical comedies: "The Sun Eclipse" ( 1943 ), "Aznaur" ( 1945 ), "The Love of the Three" ( 1948 ), Children's Opera - "Friends" and "Foolish Cruel" ( 1928 ), Cantatas - "Lame" ( 1944 ) , "Glory to Lenin" ( 1971 ), "The Multipurpose of Georgia" ( 1971 ), symph. Poem - "Eliso" ( 1943 ), Choral Songs, One-part Concertos "Losing Vardzia" ( 1966 ) and more.". He was made an Honoured Art Worker of Georgia in 1946. The birds evoked in this piece seem to be those found in gardens - the cover art of this piece shows blue-tits and great-tits (to give them their British names), and part of the cover is shown on the thumbnail. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- ------------------------------------------------------- Played by Phillip Sear http://www.psear.co.uk (Email: [email protected] WhatsApp: http://wa.me/441444483794 )
