Activist resistance to security guards of McDonald's
31 August flaming actions against selling and consumption of animal based food took place in two Georgian cities. McDonald’s outlets were chosen as targets. Action “One Voice – United for Animal Liberation” (https://www.facebook.com/events/34928...) within the bounds of “It’s Not Food! It’s Violence!” international campaign organized by Direct Action Everywhere (http://directactioneverywhere.com) was held in three dozen cities in 10 countries of the world.
In Batumi activists picketed McDonald’s almost for an hour, standing in front of the doors and shouting “Animals Have Rights Too!”. As a result security guards called the police, so animal rights activists took this opportunity to educate guardians of law about the horrors of meat, dairy and egg industries.
In Tbilisi two outlets of the chain were attacked. Here activists decided to hold protests inside. After a nice mayhem with shouting “It’s Not Food! It’s Violence!” in Georgian and in English and handing out the leaflets about the advantages of veganism and disadvantages of meat eating in the first cafe activists moved to the second one. Rigorous security guards already waited for them there and they were out for scalps. They absolutely didn’t realize that they show themselves as cads, fools and agressors in the eyes of their own clients, when they took away the loud speaker from activists and started pushing them out rudely.
After dislodging the majority of them, they shut the doors and started holding one activist, who was filming the action on camera, inside by force. It was an obvious kidnapping. After some psychological pressure was applied to the goblins activists managed to snatch the activist by force and take her out. At some point the security guards understood that they cannot protect their premises effectively so they started calling for support using walkie-talkie. Besides the pleasant memories activists left behind the walls covered with animal liberation stickers and tables paved with leaflets.
When activists were leaving, they saw the car of private security guards with the shotguns outside, that were called by the McDonald’s security who obviously couldnt cope with activists by themselves. But the brave warriors didn’t chase the activists, seeing that the siege is already quit.
“By the way, these dickheads didn’t give our loud speaker back, so they owe us, and we shall find the way to get this debt back”, - activists say.
