Between the 25-31 of July in Misakcieli, Georgia our member Umbrella undertook a Democracy is more than voting training session. The pilot project ‘Democracy is more than voting’ supported by the European Youth Foundation, Council of Europe was implemented by the organization, Umbrella on the 25-31 of July at Misakcieli, Georgia. The goal of the project was to increase the participation level of young people at local self-government and enhance local democracy by promoting structural dialogue. Youth and representatives of local authorities from different parts of Georgia, including from remote and disadvantage (religion and ethnic minorities) areas took part in the project. During the project participants were taught the principles of local democracy and active citizenship through the non-formal education methodology.
