Qanuri/Kanuri/ყანური is a Georgian work song from the Imereti (იმერეთი) region. It would have been sung outside in the fields. The last part (2:02 to the end) would have been repeated for a long time, accompanied by a drum and dancing. The song might also have been performed at supras (Georgian feasts) as a toast for the men working in the fields.

All lyrics are vocables (nonsense syllables - the equivalent of \"fa la la la\").

Performers:
Mount Holyoke College Glee Club Fall 2012
Soloists: Eleni Karagiannis and Whitney Hughes
Conductor: Lindsay Pope

Lindsay Pope learned the piece at a summer 2012 Village Harmony workshop in Corsica.
