This performance has taken place at Bolshoi Theatre in Moscow on the occasion of Georgian Art Decade in 1937. After some month Evgeni Mikeladze has been executed by Stalin during his Great Purges. Evgeni was 34, a very talented young man with promised big future. Famous tenor David Andguladze recollects that Mikeladze was performing Schubert Symphony No. 8 (Unvollendete) in Leningrad Philharmonic with great success. He was that time chief conductor at the Tbilisi Opera House.
