Georgian subtitles available! \"Vazisubani\" station was planned to be built within the third line of the Tbilisi Metro.
Construction started in 1988 and was supposed to be completed in 1995, but it was stopped in 1992 due to the economic crisis in the country.

The Vazisubani station would be located at a depth of 63 meters from the ground surface. The station would be a single-arched structure with two escalator exits, which would be located on the projected highway connecting Vazisubani to Javakheti Street (not built). Large-scale vestibules were arranged at both exits - in the western part with an underground commercial complex, and at the eastern exit - an elevated vestibule with transitional footbridges to Sandor Petef Street and the prospective highway. Each escalator exit should be equipped with 4-lane escalators.

The construction was performed via shaft N68. The construction of the escalator tunnel on the west side has not started. Before the construction was stopped, only the partial construction of the vertical well, the bed holes adjacent to the well, the catchment basin and the escalator tunnel on the eastern side were partially build. Structurally, the escalator tunnel and the station complex were not connected. The inclined escalator tunnel is dug out from the zero horizon to the 31-meter mark and, except for the section near the end, is enclosed in a cast iron tubing bracket. Unlike dry station tunnels, it is completely flooded.

The study of flooded deep industrial constructions is associated with significant risk and is rarely performed. In this regard, the work carried out by Georgian speleodivers to study the flooded areas of the third line of the Tbilisi metro line (in particular, shafts 64 and 68) is particularly noteworthy.
