Thursday is a day for poetry on Booktube, I am not an avid reader of poetry, but I live in Georgia, a land of poetry. So for this Thursday I decided to read the Georgian Poem 'Kari Kris' (ქარი ქრის) or 'The Wind Blows' by Galaktion Tabidze. Many of Galaktion's word combinations are considered untranslatable, so I decided to read the poem in Georgian and put up some rough English subtitles.
I am reading from \"Poems\" by Galaktion Tabidze, translated by Innes Merabishvili published by Critical, Cultural and Communications Press, Nottingham, 2011.
The poem is from 1924.
If you wish to hear a native Georgian speaker read the poem: • ქარი ქრის / Kari kris
Any comments and questions welcome.
