Peaceful protest of activists from Georgia, Turkey and Russia against animal cruelty and exploitation in dolphinarium turned into a battlefield. At least three people were severely beaten up. The first person to attack them was a tamer who immediately started hitting activists with fists and legs. Then the security guards followed the lead. Activists were forced to use pepper spray to defend themselves and survive in this massacre.
They continued beating activists even outside the dolphinarium territory. Applications for police were given and the investigation was started. In the near future the identification of the bullies will take place.
Batumi Dolphinarium is known as an awful place for animals. It's enough to say that it has three shows per day. Locals often hear terrible screams of dolphins and seals in the night.
\"Obviously this is a humaneless way of treating active and intellectual animals and now we can see how cruel these people can be not only to animals, but to humans as well\", - says Temur Lachkepiani from Georgian Federation for the Protection of Animals.
\"It's quite typical that the craziest and most furious opponent in this incident was a tamer - the person who got used to hurt animals and apparently loves bringing pain to living creatures of all kinds. Classical rapist and hater\", - adds Burak Özgüner from Freedom to Animals (Turkey).
