According to the belief of the ancient religion of the Georgian people, honey and walnuts were considered sacred food and were sacrificed to \"gentlemen\" - honey was mixed in a Christmas cork, nuts were eaten by \"gentlemen\" (base). In Svaneti, on the day of Lifanali, a mixture of honey and milk was sprinkled on the road, as if the souls of the dead were returning.
