Biography
As one of the top guitarists in the world, as well as a composer, singer, and arranger; Temur was born in Tbilisi, Georgia.
Temur is a self-taught musician, he learned to play guitar as a true master of his instrument without any formal music education and developed his own style of playing over many years of intense self-education.
From the age of 15, in addition to his own compositions, Temur was the first Georgian guitarist to adapt and perform transcriptions of Georgian classical and modern music for the guitar; in addition to this unique achievement, he has also done his own arrangements for the guitar of world renowned classics, works by such composers as Bach, Mozart, Paganini, Schubert, Rimsky-Korsakov, Chopin and many others.
Temur Kvitelashvili is the first instrumentalist of Georgia to have ever performed a solo concert in Tbilisi’s Great Hall of the Philharmonic, (In the Republic of Georgian). In addition to his solo career, Temur Kvitelashvili has collaborated with many other famous instrumentalists, vocalists and ensembles in Georgia, a territory of the former Soviet Union, and many times abroad.
Since 1985, Temur Kvitelashvili had already been considered one of the best guitarists in the territories of the former Soviet Union and the Baltic countries.
For many years, Temur Kvitelashvili has been the face of numerous world famous guitar and musical equipment brands. Temur also annually visits the most prestigious exhibition in Los Angeles (California) – NAMM Show as a representative of various brand names.
Temur’s music can often be heard on the radio and television programs.
Temur Kvitelashvili was also the creator and host of the Georgian television program “Contemporary world guitar art.”
The name Temur Kvitelashvili is included in the encyclopedia under “Who is who in Georgia”, as well as in the “Encyclopedia of Georgian Music”.
Several compositions written and performed by Temur Kvitelashvili have been included in the audio collections of the world’s best guitarists and have been released as CD’s.
Temur has toured as a solo artist and conducted master classes in countries such as the USA, Canada, England, Australia, Israel, Japan, Austria, Belgium, Sweden, France, Germany, Russia, South Africa and many others.
Temur Kvitelashvili has performed solo concerts in such prestigious halls as Carnegie Hall, Birdland, The Baked Potato, La Ve Lee, House of Music, Iridium and many others.
Temur has also performed with such guitarists as Les Paul, Allan Holdsworth, Tommy Emmanuel, Scott Henderson, Michael Angelo Batio, as a special guest.

In 1994, in Hollywood (USA) Temur Kvitelashvili was named the best Fusion guitar player of the year.
In 1996, Temur was named the best instrumentalist in Georgia.
In 1998, Temur was awarded the Order of Honor by the President of Georgia.
In 2004, Temur Kvitelashvili set a world record for the Guinness Book of Records – 30 hours of continuous guitar playing.
In 2013, Temur was elected Honorary Citizen of Akhaltsikhe (Georgia) (the city in which Temur’s father was born).
In 2013, Temur was elected Honorary Citizen by the city of Tbilisi.
In 2018, Temur was awarded with the Government of Israel’s Certificate of Honor.
In 2019, Temur was awarded with the Certificate of Honor by the Supreme Council of the Autonomous Republic of Abkhazia.
