Tbilisi is the capital and largest city of Georgia, located along the Kura (Mtkvari) River at the crossroads of Europe and Asia. The city’s origins date back to the 5th century, when King Vakhtang Gorgasali, inspired by the discovery of warm springs, founded Tbilisi—a name derived from the Georgian word for “warm”. The city’s legendary hot springs remain a major attraction in the historic Abanotubani district.
Tbilisi’s Old Town is a labyrinth of narrow streets, colorful balconies, and centuries-old churches, such as the Sioni Cathedral and the Metekhi Church. Overlooking the city is the ancient Narikala Fortress, offering panoramic views and a glimpse into Tbilisi’s tumultuous past. The cityscape features a striking contrast between medieval structures and modern landmarks, reflecting Tbilisi’s ongoing transformation.

On this tour, we start from Rustaveli Avenue in the city center and walk for an hour through bustling streets and lively downtown areas, all the way to the atmospheric Old Town of Tbilisi.
