They are the branch of Kartvelian (Georgian) people located along both the northern (Pirikita khevsureti, პირიქითა ხევსურეთი) and southern (Piraketa khevsureti, პირაქეთა ხევსურეთი) slopes of the Great Caucasus Mountains.
