This is Svaneti in winter, full of snow and stunning views. I travel from Tbilisi to Svaneti on a hard journey through the harsh weather. I explore the tiny village of Mestia Georgia, try the local Svaneti food. Georgian food is amazing, but here in the mountains of Georgia the local Georgian cuisine is on another level. I explore the history of the region, visiting the Svan Towers, part of the UNESCO World Heritage Site. before finally going to a Georgian cooking class where I am invited into the kitchen to eat with the local family. Mestia in winter is tough, but you are rewarded with a unique experience in the most remote village in Europe.
