Scroll is pleased to announce a vacancy for the position: Data Analyst

Who are you?

The data expert. You will be someone who lives and breathes data – you will own KPIs and operational reporting to provide visibility of business performance and create experiments to improve operational efficiency.

Forward thinking. You will be responsible for analyzing complex business problems, operational scenarios, and related financial implications to drive informed business decisions. You will do so with little guidance, will ask for help when needed, and will be excited to share your own skills when possible.

Relationship builder. Data does not tell the whole story – you do. You will be engaging and working closely with each business to understand their operations and needs, while identifying unmentioned areas of opportunity and recommending actions to improve performance. You also understand how to prioritise requests, set reasonable timelines, and manage expectations.

Get the big picture. You will collect business requirements and define and continually improve KPI understanding and visibility and provide measures in a timely and accurate manner. You will understand how the smallest events roll up to the big picture and be passionate about sharing that journey with others.

Explorer of the unknown. You don’t know what you don’t know, and this excites you. You will lead ad-hoc research based on your own intuition, influenced by the focus of the business and what you do and don’t know. You will bring your own set of expertise to analysis, and round your view out with the input of others to create actionable changes.

Technically proficient. You know your data, process, and tools extremely well. You understand that there are many right tools for the job and will happily bring your years of expertise to get the job done.

Start-up Mindset. You believe that perfect is the enemy of good. You understand that timeliness is critical and can factor this in when deciding what is the minimum viable product you are willing to produce. You can clearly articulate the use cases of what you design and produce and can continue building in more features after delivery.

What you’ll need:

  • Strong background in mathematics, statistics, science, or business.
  • Strong background in SQL and DB management. Any language, they’re all the same. Bonus points for Python and/or R experience.
  • Strong experience with data visualisation tools, anything from Excel up to Tableau and beyond.
  • Experience with requirements gathering, building out reporting and analytical platforms, and business
  • Demonstrable experience driving growth in technology/consulting/business environments preferred.
